February 13, 2015

2:00 p.m.

1.	WELCOME  Chair Hinson welcomed everyone and called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m.
2.	APPROVAL OF MINUTES  Susan Wilson, Court Administrator’s Office/Second by Nina.  ASA Allman abstained because he was not at last meeting.
3.	OVERVIEW OF GADSDEN COUNTY WORK PROGRAM   Martha Chancey, Probation Manager, gave a brief overview of the program.  ASA Allman asked the average of work days ordered. Major Wood asked if she had seen any problems with participants. Yes-have been some minor injuries and had some that did not show up. Judge Garner said had not been made aware of any problems and commended the ones responsible to making this work.
4.	RE-ENTRY PROGRAM  Major Robert Barkley, Gadsden County Sheriff’s Department, his job made easier with the jail reduction. He showed a slide of trustees and some of the jobs they were responsible for.  He said they try to match the trustee with job skills they possess. ASA Allman asked if the criteria for the re-entry program was laid out in a document. Chair Hinson said when had the ribbon-cutting at Safelite, they mentioned they would love to build a relationship with ones with small machine experience.
5.	QUESTIONS/COMMENTS  Major Wood said normally this meeting was a once a year meeting and they changed it to a bi-annual meeting.  He asked that this not just be about the jail, but some of the other projects in the community.  Would like for them to look a juvenile crimes, DJJ, and look at the new drug “Molly”.
6.	DISCUSS NEXT MEETING DATE  Chair asked if anyone had topics for the next meeting.  Mr. Presnell said the next meeting would be in six months.
7.	ADJOURN  Adjourned meeting at 2:45 p.m.
